Frequently asked questions

Which devices work? Only devices with a LiDAR sensor: iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models, and iPad Pro from 2020 on. On a device without LiDAR both scan modes are shown as unavailable.

Does it work offline? Yes. Scanning, processing, storage and export all run on the device. The only feature that needs a connection is Reconstruct, which uploads one project's photos to our reconstruction service and downloads the finished model.

What leaves my device? Nothing unless you tap Reconstruct. That upload contains the photos of that one project, and it is deleted from the service after 7 days. The Privacy Policy has the full description.

How do I delete a project or everything? Long-press a project card on the Home screen and choose Delete. Settings > Clear All Data removes every project, its files and any pending reconstruction job.

Which formats can I export? Floor plans: PDF, PNG, CSV, GeoJSON and a printable STL of the plan. Objects: STL, OBJ, 3MF and USDZ, scaled in millimetres for slicers.

Where do exported files go? Exports open the iOS share sheet, so you can save them to Files, AirDrop them or hand them to another app. The app keeps a copy inside its own storage until you delete the project.

The model has holes or the plan looks wrong. What can I do? For objects, scan in even light, keep the object still and let the guide reach every side; Regenerate offers another pass over the same photos. For floor plans, keep the device moving slowly, close doors behind you when rooms are merged, and use Add Room rather than restarting.

Is there an Android or Mac version? No. Tansol is an iPhone and iPad app.
